Cloudland Canyon State Park

Saturday, June 15 — Cloudland Canyon State Park, Trenton, Georgia: Overlook Trail, Waterfalls Trail (2 mi., 436’) and West Rim Trail (4.7 mi., 744’), about 7 miles, moderate. We will view two beautiful waterfalls, hemlocks, mountain laurel and rhododendrons, and spectacular vistas down into the canyon. Check the weather forecast within a day of the hike, as earlier forecasts can change dramatically. Choose appropriate layers; wear hiking shoes or boots; bring snacks and/or lunch along with more water than you think you need; gather up sunscreen and insect repellent (essential) and hiking poles and rain jacket as needed. Meet at 8 am EDT at the CCSP Visitor Center or for carpooling/caravanning, meet at 7:30 am ET at the parking lot just after LaQuinta Inn, right (north) off I-24 Exit 175. https://bit.ly/3QITAD4  Bring your GA Parks pass or $5.00 parking fee.
