A Bit of the John Muir Trail

Saturday, September 11 — The beautiful Hiwassee River! We will hike 6 miles of John Muir’s 1000-mile trek to the Gulf. An easy to moderate trek mostly along the river’s edge, starting at the Appalachia Powerhouse and finishing at Childers Creek parking, requiring a car shuttle. Please register with hike leader, Tammy Hendrick, 315-949-8187. Meet at 8:30 AM at Food City in Ooltewah, east off exit 11 from I-75. Bring lunch & bug spray.
