Natchez Trace Pkwy – Devil’s Backbone SNA, Branch Trail and Jackson Falls.  Devil’s Backbone is a natural area in Lewis County.  Devil’s Backbone offers the opportunity for a quiet hike to the Natchez Trace Parkway.  The trail follows the TN’s Highland Rim and drops down along a hollow and back again along the ridge.  The 3-mile trail is a moderately strenuous loop with 200 feet of elevation change.  Devil’s Backbone State Area is located near Hohenwald on the Natchez Pkwy.

If you want to carpool to this hike, we will meet behind McDonald’s in north Spring Hill (4910 Main Street – Williamson County) at 8:00 a.m. If you would like to meet at the Devil’s Backbone trailhead, we will be there at 9:00 a.m.
