Cherokee National Forest – Flats Mountain Trail

Citico Creek Wilderness

This trail is part of the Cherokee National Forest, Citico Creek Wilderness, Tellico Plains, TN. The trails begins at Eagle Gap on the Cherohala Skyway and ends at Beehouse Gap on Citico Creek Rd. The trail is 6.1 miles long and is rated moderate. Most of the trail is downhill with one steep short section. The trail offers spectacular views of the entire wilderness area. There are no stream crossings.

Depart 7:30am CT from Central Baptist Church, 1346 S Main St, Crossville, TN. We will stop at the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center in Tellico Plains ETA 10:15 ET to pick up additional hikers. Please bring water and snacks as well as sturdy shoes. If interested in the overnight option, please email plateauhikes@tennesseetrails.org. On Sunday we’ll hike the 6mi Bald River Falls Trail.
