We also hike out and back to the Fort Donelson National Cemetery; 7 miles total; Dogs are welcome if on a leash; We may see Bald Eagles; The Battle of Fort Donelson, February 11–16, 1862, was the first major Union victory in the Civil War; The Cumberland River and Tennessee River became integral parts of Union supply lines.
