March 18, 2021 @ 11:15 am
Thursday. March 18. 1 mile. Easy history hike. Historian Mark Zimmerman will lead us on a tour of Fort Negley in Nashville. We will start by watching a video at the visitors center. Then Mark will lead us on a tour of the fort, stopping along the way to fill us in about the Civil War history and the battle of Nashville during the war. Meet for caravanning at First Presbyterian Church parking lot, 172 W. Main Street in Hendersonville at 11:15 AM/CT (The fort is only open noon to 4 PM this time of year). Mark has written several books on historic Nashville and suggests listening to podcast at: https://nashville-daily.simplecast.com/episodes/episode-407. You can purchase one of Mark’s books at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0985869224. You might want to have lunch before the hike, or bring lunch or snacks.
