Meeman-Shelby Forest Horse Trail

Join us for a strenuous 7-mile hiker/horse loop trail over a mixture of hills and flat areas around Poplar Tree Lake. The trails are quite rugged because of the recent ice storms that downed trees. Many trees are across the trail which means climbing through the limbs or taking detours off the trail in order to pass. The trail also has leaves and gum balls and in many areas is deeply rutted. Included is the Benjestown 3 mile loop which has multiple hills. Because of the detours around the trail there will be only one group hiking.

Restrooms are available next to the parking lot. Plan to hike about 4 hours. Bring water and snack. Hiking boots and poles are recommended. Rain will cancel hike. Registration is required. Please email and not text. Deadline to register: Noon Thursday 3/10.
