Monte Sano Nature Preserve Hike

October 9 – Monte Sano Nature Preserve, Huntsville, AL.  Six miles, 600 ft elevation gain, strenuous.  Old Railroad Bed Trail, Alms House Trail, Wagon Trail, High Trail, Toll Gate Trail Loop.  The Railroad was built in 1888 to serve the Monte Sano Resort Hotel and included several trestles, bridges, and cuts.  We will talk about the history of the railroad and hotel.  Boots required due to railroad ballast.  Bring water and lunch.
