Nashville Urban Hike: State Capitol to Marathon Village to Bicentennial Park, Nashville, TN.
May 15, 2021 @ 8:30 am
This is a relatively short but highly interesting hike in downtown Nashville. We meet at Legislative Plaza (War Memorial Plaza) just south of the State Capitol at 8:30 am. Various free parking lots can be found west of the state capitol off ML King Blvd. Our hike will lead us close to the capitol and then down the great lawn. Walking west via North Gulch we visit the new Frankie Pierce Park and then on to Marathon Village. We will browse through this fascinating place and then return along an alternate route to Bicentennial Mall. We have an optional stop at the Farmer’s Market, close to the Tn State Museum, where you may then wish to spend some time. Hike distance is just 3 miles or so with some elevation changes.
