Promoting the development and enjoyment of Tennessee trails.
We’ll touch on several different trails but they’re all easy, no significant elevation changes. We’ll pass through woodlands and see creekside habitats showcasing a variety of wildlife and natural plants as well as remnants of pre-Manhattan project settlements. We’ll see the quarry lake and old cemeteries too. The hike is about 6 miles.
We will meet in Oak Ridge at the Books-A-Million parking lot nearest Illinois Ave. for carpooling to the trail head because there is limited parking, leaving at 9 am. Books-A-Million is located at 310 South Illinois Ave. The trail head is about 4.5 miles away.
The weather is variable; we recommend hiking poles, shoes to wear to and from the hike plus sturdy hiking shoes, other weather appropriate clothing, a snack, a drink and a camera.
After the hike plan on stopping on the way back for a meal and refreshments.
For additional information about the hike please contact Scott Adams before February 3rd
