Sewanee Perimeter Trail and Sherwood Forest State Natural Area

Sewanee Perimeter Trail and Sherwood Forest State Natural Area. This hike is 8.5 miles total for both hikes and rated easy. First, we’ll hike the Sewanee Perimeter Trail from the University gates parking lot to the War Memorial Cross. This out and back is approximately 6 miles and is paved part of the way. After this hike we will drive south on Highway 156 to hike the Sherwood Forest trail. This is a 2.5-mile easy loop trail located near Sewanee and offers nice bluff views. There is an amazing natural rock bridge, many rock formations and beautiful views. Bring water, lunch, and wear sturdy hiking boots.
