Sycamore Falls/Sherwood Forest Dual Hike

Part One
Time: 10:00 AM at trailhead. Please leave contact information in case of inclement weather.
Trailhead location: 131 Fiery Gizzard Road, Tracy City, TN 37387.
Trail Information: Approximately a 3-mile hike. There is an elevation gain of 95 feet and loss according to All Trails. This is a loop trail with an in and out to Sycamore Falls. Wear appropriate shoes anticipating muddy and slick ground in places.
Directions: Head east from I-24 and Hwy. 41 (exit 134). Go past South Cumberland State Park Information & Welcome Center located at 11745 US 41, Monteagle, about 2-1/2 miles. From US 41 in Tracy City, turn right (south) at 3rd Street (flanked by Sequatchie Electric Co-op and a tire store). Take 3rd Street past the elementary school; look for a small brown park sign at Marion Street, on your right. Take Marion Street 2 blocks, then right on Fiery Gizzard Road. Parking area and trailhead are on the left.
Lunch: We will stop and have lunch in Sewanee at a place to be determined prior to our second hike.
Restrooms: According to All Trails there appears to be a restroom at the trailhead. To be sure, there is a rest area just prior to Exit 134 on I-24E which is the Sewanee exit.
Part Two
Sherwood Forest Loop Trail – February 19, 2022, Afternoon.
Directions: Head west from I24 and Hwy. 41 (exit 134) to Sewanee. Turn left (south) at Hwy. 156 as you come into Sewanee. Proceed 8.2 miles and look for Old CCC Road, a dirt road, on your right(west). Take this for two miles to the parking area and trailhead.
Trailhead location: 1900 Old CCC Road, Sherwood, TN 37376
Trail information: Approximately a 3 mile hike. There is 72 feet of elevation gain and loss on this trail. This area is part of the Sherwood Forest State Natural Area also known as Lost Cove East.
Time: To be determined after our lunch in Sewanee.
