Tishomingo State Park – Iuka, MS

Tishomingo State Park is a public recreation area in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, 45 miles northeast of Tupelo, MS. The major feature of the park is Bear Creek Canyon and its generous sandstone outcroppings.
This is a 6-7 mile hike winding along rocky ridges with spectacular views through shallow, fern-filled canyons and across the Bear Creek Swinging Bridge constructed in the 1930’s. Bring lunch and water. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. We will meet at the park toll gate and park in a lot to the right just before entering the park gate. We will regroup into less vehicles. Heavy rain will cancel this hike. Entrance fee $2 per person. Heavy rain will cancel this hike. Registration required.
