Flat Rock & Vesta Cedar Glades
Murfreesboro & Lebanon, TN
~6 miles total. Easy to moderate
Middle Tennessee cedar glades and barrens feature wooded sections, meadows, and contrasting rocky areas. We can expect to see over 30 wildflower species, some rare, and many of which are specifically adapted to the geography. We’ll hike at a pace that allows us to appreciate them.
We’ll visit two state natural areas, beginning with Flat Rock Cedar Glades and Barrens in Murfreesboro and going on to Vesta Cedar Glade in Lebanon.
Meet at the Flat Rock parking lot for an 8:30 AM step-off. Some areas may be wet or muddy so choose your footwear accordingly. Pack plenty of water, snacks, and lunch. Don’t forget sun and bug protection. Contact Mark for updates.
