CT: North Chickamauga Section Soddy Daisy, TN.

Wednesday Dec 18 – Cumberland Trail North Chickamauga Section, Soddy Daisy, TN.  LONG HIKE: Starting from the Barker Camp Rd trailhead we’ll hike 8.3 miles along and across Cooper Creek, bring water shoes. There is a nice overlook near Panther Branch. After descending several switchbacks we will cross Cooper Creek to Stephen’s Campground then pass old mines to Montlake Rd Trailhead. Requires a car shuttle. SHORT HIKE: 5 mi round trip to Panther Branch Overlook and back.  If necessary, the short hikers can drive all the cars to the Montlake Rd Trailhead for the long hikers.  Depart from Central Baptist Church at 8:00 am CDST.  Carpool cost is $7.  Bring hiking poles, wear hiking boots, rain gear, (electrolytes) water, lunch and a snack. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. Persons aged 18 and over, members and non-members welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
