Savage Gulf Hike

January 8, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Wednesday, January 8 – North Rim, Mountain Oak, North Plateau Loop.  10 miles.  Moderate.  Savage Gulf East Trailhead (Savage Gulf Ranger Station). 3157 State Route 399, Palmer, TN.  This hike offers numerous overlooks of Savage Gulf.  From these viewpoints we will see the old growth forest at the bottom of the gorge, and the junction of the three gulfs which make up the state natural area. We’ll also stop at Rattlesnake Point and Savage Falls Overlook on our return via the day loop.    Bring water, snacks, lunch and hiking sticks.  Register with Jim Barritt, jsbarritt@gmail.com  or 931-492-3212.  Meet at the trailhead at 9 am CST.
