Wednesday, February 12th – Rock Island State Park and Burgess FallsWe will travel to Rock Island State Park. The short hikes will include the Downstream Trail (1.7 miles moderate) consisting of views of the Blue Hole and 2 waterfalls. We will then do the Collins Nature Trail (3 miles moderate) loop which winds beside the riverbank. The third trail will be the Bluff Trail (1.7 miles moderate). For the long hike we will travel to Burgess Falls State Park and do the River Trail (1.5 miles round trip rated difficult) which takes up past 4 waterfalls on the Falling Water River. Depart from Cracker Barrel parking lot 23 Executive Dr. Crossville, TN at 8:00 am CST. Carpool cost is $8.00. Bring hiking poles, wear hiking/rain gear, bring plenty of (electrolytes) water, lunch/snack. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. People aged 18 and over, members and non-members welcome.
