Paddle Description and Mileage Has Changed – Sullivan’s Landing TWRA Boat Ramp to Guild Public Access Area in Marion County. Joint event with the Highland Rim chapter. Meet at Sullivan’s Landing at 8:00 am CDT to arrange a vehicle shuttle to our takeout at Guild Public Access Area boat ramp. The shuttle is an easy 15 minutes one way.
Our voyage on the Tennessee River will explore Mullens Cove, islands, Bennett Lake, underwater tombstones and the remains of the old Hales Bar Dam. Nickajack Dam replaced Hales Bar Dam in 1967. The locals report this area is haunted and we’ll also see the beautiful Highway 41 bridge. We may see bald eagles, osprey, turtles and otters.
