BSFNRA Maude’s Crack Trail, Jamestown, TN

Joint hike with Upper Cumberland Chapter. Long Hike: 7 mi moderate to strenuous. Short Hike: 4 mi moderate to strenuous down to the creek and back, then hike to Maude’s Crack Overlook and back. This hike is a loop that descends to the bottom of No Business Gorge, and then follows the creek for a mile or so to the rim of the gorge. The last 100 feet of the climb is through Maude’s Crack. There are relics of an early 20th century settlement along No Business Creek. The hike is approximately 7 miles of rugged terrain, a stream crossing, and one climb. Water shoes may be necessary to wade through the creek. Bring hiking poles, (electrolytes) water, lunch and a snack. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. Persons 18 and over, members and non-members welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
