Promoting the development and enjoyment of Tennessee trails.
This is a three-mile easy hike/walk loop through the Chestnut Bend trails and Harlinsdale Park. We will start at Ellen Clark/Lou Laratta’s home in Franklin at 7am to beat the heat. We will pick up the trail from there and cross over the new bridge over the Harpeth River into Harlinsdale Park. We will walk through the park and hit the sidewalks into downtown Franklin where we will have breakfast at either Merridees Breadbasket or the Mercantile restaurant. Both restaurants have outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. After breakfast we will pick up another section of the Chestnut Bend trail that follows along the Harpeth River and is protected by trees and a cliff so it is cool on this trail. We will end up back at Ellen and Lou’s house. Participants should bring water and comfortable walking shoes. For people wanting to participate, contact Ellen Clark at ERCclark@aol.com.
