Joint hike with Upper Cumberland Chapter. The trail is difficult due to the elevation change and lots of rock steps. SHORT HIKE: 4-5 mile in/out hike. From Turkey Creek the trail proceeds along Daddy’s Creek gorge bluff under sheer bluffs. The last mile, the trail decends down into the canyon. There are a couple of overlooks that provide a view of the gorge. LONG HIKE: Turkey Creek to Devils Breakfast Table is a thru hike of 7 strenuous and difficult miles into the Daddy’s Creek Gorge. There is a 1 mile car shuttle. Wear orange and good sturdy hiking boots and hiking sticks are recommended. Bring lunch, snacks, (electrolytes) water, bug spray and sunscreen. Depart 7:30 am CDST from The Grove Parking Lot off Stonehenge Lodge Drive in the Fairfield Glade Community (left off Peavine Rd onto Fairfield Blvd then Left on Stonehenge Lodge Drive). Bring (electrolytes) water, snacks and lunch. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. Persons 18 and over, members and non-members welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Gas cost is $3.
