Promoting the development and enjoyment of Tennessee trails.
We will hike a modified version of 8 miles that is moderate and strenuous in certain areas due to length and elevation changes of over 1000 ft. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking and birding. Dog are welcome but must be on a leash. The trail features some steep climbs and rocky areas. The highlight is the pathway along the lake’s edge. The long hike has been modified to 8 miles due to previous trail damage from weather and rerouting. For the short hike, you can do it as in/out at anytime. Depart 7:30 a.m. CST from the NW corner Save-A-Lot parking lot 229 Interstate Drive, Crossville, TN. Carpool gas cost is $7. Address of trailhead is Edgemoor Rd. Clinton, TN. (ET ZONE) Bring hiking poles, wear hiking/rain gear, bring plenty (electrolytes) water, lunch/snack. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. People age 18 and over, members and non-members welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. For additional information, contact the hike leaders Evelyn & Elliott Kornreich at 845-325-5749
