National Public Lands Day – Stones River Battlefield

Saturday, September 28 – National Public Lands Day – Stones River National Battlefield. This year instead of trail maintenance at Barfield Park, we will celebrate National Public Lands Day at the Stones River National Battlefield. Work will be at the McFadden Farm Unit and land that was preserved by the American Battlefield Trust and will become our newest city park. Please help in removing invasive plants and trash from this area where the Battle of Stones occurred nearly 162 years ago. Check-in opens at 8:30 am and work will be from 9:00 am – 11:30 am.

Volunteers under 14 years old may not participate in invasive plant removal.
