Promoting the development and enjoyment of Tennessee trails.
Thompson’s Station’s Preservation Park was purchased and opened to the public in 2015. Currently the park has only dirt/gravel/mowed grass trails that lead into and through the park and a small gravel parking area at 1600 Thompson’s Station Road West.
In the Summer/Fall of 2016, the Town completed a portion of the Greenway Trail from Tollgate Village past the Community Gardens and Nutro Dog Park to the edge of Preservation Park. The Greenway Trail will extend through Preservation Park to the parking lot with a TAP Grant the Town was awarded from the State of Tennessee.
Natural surface trails were constructed throughout the park to provide hiking opportunities, specifically the Battlefield and Depot Trails. Please see map on the Preservation Park website for more information about the trails in Preservation Park.
We will meet at the Preservation Park parking lot located at 1600 Thompson’s Station Road West, Thompson’s Station at 9:00 a.m. Lunch after the hike (3.5 miles moderate with some ascent/descent).
