Saturday, March 15 – Rock Island State Park, 82 Beach Road, Rock Island. Rock Island State Park is located on the headwaters of Center Hill Lake at the confluence of the Caney Fork, Collins and Rocky Rivers. It is known for its scenic overlooks and cascading waterfalls. We will hike the Downstream Trail Loop, Eagle Trail, and the Collins River Loop Trail. We can also hike the Bluff Trail Loop if time permits. Total mileage is about 6 miles and is rated moderate. We will visit Great Falls and Twin Falls. We will hike along the Caney Fork and Collins Rivers. We will hike below towering sandstone bluffs. We will have lunch at the Badger Flat Picnic Area alongside the Caney Fork River. Meet at the Visitor Center at 9 am. Bring water, snacks and lunch.
