Savage Falls Hike

February 8 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Saturday, February 8 – Savage Day Loop and South Rim Trail to Base of Savage Falls.   6 miles, moderate.  Savage Gulf State Park.  Savage Gulf East Trailhead (Savage Gulf Ranger Station) 3157 State Route 399, Palmer TN.   We will meet at 9:00 am CST at the trailhead.  Please register with our hike leader, Margie Schumacher, rs2msps@yahoo.com  or 352-442-8949.  On this hike we will visit Savage Falls from two different vantages.  On the loop we will visit the overlook of Savage Falls and the Rattlesnake Point Overlook. Rattle Snake Overlook offers a long, deep view down Savage Gulf.  On the South Rim Trail we will hike along cascading Savage Creek and use a wood stairway to access the base of beautiful Savage Falls. Bring water, lunch and hiking sticks.  Wear sturdy hiking boots.
