This trail is part of the River to River and Garden of the Gods trail system. Featuring Arch of The Gods, Anvil Rock, scenic views and rock formations. Restrooms available at the Garden of the Gods Recreation area (though not in the best condition)
Please note that while this hike is listed as moderate, there are some short difficult sections with rocky and steep terrain with 800ft elevation gain. There may be stream crossings and mud on the day. Trekking poles are highly recommended for this hike. Bring snacks, lunch, and plenty of water.
At the end of the main hike, we will have 45 minutes to visit the short Garden of the Gods Loop, with many rock features.
We will also visit Cave-In-Rock on the way back, a 55-foot-wide cave carved from limestone rock by water thousands of years ago. The Drive includes a short River Ferry Crossing over the Ohio River, this is free of charge.
Depart 6:00am CT from I24 Exit 11 Park and Ride. 120 Miles to the trailhead. We will carpool and with a $10 gas charge to be given to the driver.
