Promoting the development and enjoyment of Tennessee trails.
*Thursday*, April 17th This is a joint hike, approximately 5 miles with Nashville Chapter for TTA members and guests only. We’ll visit unique natural areas that offer a huge variety of spring ephemeral wildflowers and even the roadsides along the way are covered. The Washmorgan Hollow out-and-back trail follows a stream bed to a lovely waterfall, with the profusion of wildflowers coming up to eye level. We’ll have permission to hike on nearby private land where we’ll see more wildflowers and waterfalls. The optional strenuous segment is short but a bit technical. Reach out if you have questions. We’ll travel at a pace that allows us to appreciate the natural beauty around us. Depending on water levels, the trails can involve numerous shallow crossings, so you may want to bring water shoes. Alternate date for inclement weather: Wednesday April 23rd. Depart from Cracker Barrel at 7:30 am CST. Carpool cost is $7.00. *Bring water shoes in case the creek is high* Bring hiking poles, wear hiking/rain gear, bring plenty of (electrolytes) water, lunch/snack. Don’t forget tick/bug spray and sunscreen. On the way back to Crossville we’ll stop at Bee Rock in Monterey hiking about a half mile. Contact Deb Westervelt 931-267-2243 for information.
