Tuesday, September 24-Nashville Chapter Meeting, REI, Brentwood TN, 6 PM
Tennessee is the most biodiverse inland state in the nation. From an assortment of freshwater mussels in our creeks and streams to colorful salamanders in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Tennessee is an amazing state full of animals that play a role in the ecology of our natural world but often go unseen and unrecognized. Unfortunately, due to a variety of threats many populations of animals in Tennessee are declining at an alarming rate. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) biologist Dustin Thames will discuss Tennessee’s incredible biodiversity and TWRA’s efforts to recover and protect imperiled species. Plan to attend and join us for dinner prior to the meeting at Jason’s Deli, next door to REI at 5:00. Invite a friend!

Last Chapter Meeting before the Annual Meeting! We have a lot of important business and need everyone to come and support our Chapter. First, we’ll be voting for Highland Rim TTA Chapter officers for 2025. Also, for members of Friends of Short Springs, we’ll be discussing/voting on a new treasurer. We’ll review some of the key items related to the annual meeting, especially our team of volunteers. Finally, we need a lot of people to help put together the annual meeting Welcome Bags! As they say, many hands make light work.
Before the meeting, at 5:30 pm, we will meet for dinner at La Fiesta Bar & Grill, 1410 N. Jackson Street, Tullahoma next to the Quality Inn. Please contact Highland Rim Chapter Chair Patty Deen if you plan to attend dinner so I can confirm the number for our reservation.
