Lakes of Bowie Loop Trail 2.5 Miles Easy
Dr Evangeline Bowie purchased 722 Acres of baren and eroded land in the 1950’s. She worked to improve the land management, digging lakes, creating a hydrology system, and planting of over 500,00 trees. The park was deeded to the City of Fairview in 1992, with the Nature Center opening in 2003.

Cedar Forest Trail – 1.8 Miles Easy and Hidden Spring Trail – 4.6 Miles Moderate
The park is named for eastern red cedar trees found throughout the area. The trees reminded early American settlers of the famed Biblical cedar forests that thrived across Mount Lebanon in what is now the Mediterranean area.
Depart 8am CT from I24 Exit 11 Park and Ride. 72 Miles to Trailhead. Carpool cost $10
The Betsy Ligon Walking Trail runs along an old railroad bed. The trail is popular for walking, biking, and other activities.
Features: Scenic views of the town’s historic sites, Restored boxcar and caboose, Railroad Memorial Pavilion, Limestone kiln built in the late 1800s, and Benches and water fountains.
Depart 9am CT from Food Lion on Highway 48. Drive 28 Miles to the Trailhead. Carpool cost $5
This is a short hike in Clarksville’s Rotary Park. The trail is mostly shaded and with natural turf and includes a couple of stream crossings and a walk along the streams. Dogs are welcome if on a leash.
This Hike will be run in conjunction with Rotary Park as a Guided Hike for anyone in the local area.
Hike will commence at 8am CT at Rotary Park. Meet at the Wade Bourne Center. Bathrooms are available at the trailhead
Saturday, March 29 — Cloudland Canyon State Park with two options, Trenton GA. LONGER HIKE: Sitton’s Gulch, Waterfalls Trail, and West Rim Trail, 8 miles or so, 1300’ el. gain, strenuous. Shuttle involved. A well-maintained trail with lots of wildflowers, three spectacular waterfalls, a rushing whitewater creek, looming cliffs, and lots of views. What more could you ask for? SHORTER HIKE: Sitton’s Gulch, around 4 miles or so depending on how many waterfalls you want to see, out and back, easy to moderate. Gobs of wildflowers!

Tuesday, March 25 — Shake Rag Hollow loop, Sewanee TN, 5 miles, lollipop, moderate, 709’ elevation gain. Famous for wildflowers and other cool stuff! We will start our hike at the parking lot just past the University gates, heading west on Beckwith’s Point Trail to Green’s Overview, which has truly spectacular views. Then we descend a bit to return on the Perimeter Trail through Shakerag Hollow. Before we get to our cars, we will take an out-and-back spur trail to Piney Point, where we will find another great overlook.
